TCM constitution assessment
A shortened questionnaire and classification model organise self-reported information about TCM constitution. The research material also considers mixed constitution patterns rather than forcing every response into a single category.
How it works
The original TCM assessment for nine constitution types contains 60 questions, making it lengthy and cumbersome. Using the 60 items of the TCM Constitution Scale as the basic units, the Samejima graded response model estimates the discrimination parameter a and difficulty parameter b for each item and plots its item characteristic curve. A decision-tree algorithm assigns parameter a as the prior item weight and parameter b as the pruning weight, then uses the decision tree to select simplified attributes and model the logical relationships used for classification.
